    A great all round medium weight washable duvet, hand-crafted from fully traceable soft British wool and certified organic cotton. Our Deluxe Washable medium duvet will deliver better sleep and is a perfect option for all year round.

    The Deluxe Washable Collection features the finest quality wool sourced from British Farms. Part of our Wool ID® Traceable wool programme, this collection features all the all the benefits of Woolroom bedding: temperature regulating, naturally hypoallergenic, machine washable, traceable British Wool and is proven to deliver the very best, natural night's sleep.

    We recommend machine washing on a wool/delicate cycle at 40 degrees using wool detergent, a spin speed lower than 800RPM and then line drying. We do not advise tumble drying. This product is not suitable for vacuum storage.

Truly Machine Washable

It's impossible to produce a completely machine washable wool pillow without using some form of treatment on the fibre. It is a complex process that requires a lot of skill and knowledge. We are pioneers of creating a truly machine washable wool duvet.

Ordinarily, the combination of moisture, heat and movement in the washing machine will cause wool to felt and shrink. We've overcome this by bathing our British wool in a chlorine solution, which smooths out the natural barbs you find in wool (these are what cause untreated wool to shrink, clump and ultimately felt).

We were able to use the duvet right away, no smell noted. I was a little worry if its the warm enough but so far so good. Its a small adjustment from down to wool just because of difference in thickness. Happy with it overall!

I'd had my previous wool duvet for decades and really didn't want to replace it but it was falling to bits. I purchased this medium wool duvet from Woolroom, and whilst it was lighter than my old one (I probably needed the next weight up) I've found it really comfortable. I might need to double up with a thin duvet on top for the winter months, but it will be perfect for the rest of the year. I left it to air for a few days before using but didn't really notice any smell.

I wanted a natural filling but was unsure about how to clean wool duvets, so I thought this washable one would be good. It is nicely made and comes in a storage bag for when not in use. I took a while to get used to the feel of it as compared to synthetic fillings but this isn’t an issue now.
I was also attracted to it as it was advertised as being able to ‘offer natural temperature regulation’ that helps sleep. I’m not sure it does this, and unfortunately using it hasn’t helped my sleep.

I do like this duvet, and I get less sweaty when it’s a bit warm at night than I used to with my synthetic duvet, but what I miss about that one is the fluffiness and bulk of it. The structure of this quilt is a bit similar to an American-style quilted bedspread, so it’s more sort of solid and holds its own shape rather than snuggling around your body. I was ok with that until it got a bit chillier, but last night my feet got cold and I couldn’t bunch the quilt up around them for more coziness like I can with my other quilt because that created folds and gaps for heat to escape. So I’m undecided whether to keep this or not.
