    Our Organic Washable Mattress Protector includes a deep 45cm skirt and adds a temperature-regulating layer to your mattress while protecting it with some of the most organic materials available. Hand-crafted with 300gsm of certified organic British wool (that is 20% more than our Deluxe version!).

    It is fully traceable, right back to the farms, through our Wool ID® programme because we believe organic should mean honesty. Encasing that natural comfort is a beautifully soft, unbleached 300 thread count organic cotton cover, free from dyes and harsh chemicals, and kinder to your skin and the planet.

    A wool mattress protector is perfect for use on memory foam, latex, or any mattress that gets very hot with use. It draws away up to 70% of the heat generated, so you can sleep comfortably without overheating.

    What does 'Organic' really mean?

    Organic wool is a holistic system of farming that produces high quality materials using methods that benefit people, planet and animals too. There are a strict set of requirements that need to be met before the term "organic" can be used. Certification bodies will ensure that all steps to organic farming are met before providing an accreditation.

    What are the requirements for wool to be classed as organic?

    Organic wool comes from sheep that are reared, fed, sheltered and transported under strict organic standards, which prioritise their welfare and wellbeing. Cruel practices are prohibited and animal stress is minimised. Organic farmers take a preventative approach to disease, so animals are not routinely treated with antibiotics, wormers or pesticides. If any farmer were to break these stipulations then their organic license would be removed and the wool could not be sold as organic.

    To be classed as organic they must adhere to the following:

    • Reared on organic feed and grazed on organic pastures for two years
    • Free to pursue their natural behaviour with plenty of space outside and a truly free range life.
    • Treatment of the sheep is strictly prohibited unless absolutely necessary.
    • Minimal processing of the fibre.

  • Care Instructions

     

    We recommend machine washing on a wool/delicate cycle at 40 degrees using wool detergent, a spin speed lower than 800RPM and then line drying.

    Every premium mattress topper (Ryeland or Cheviot) is carefully crafted by hand and shipped to you within 7–8 weeks.

    Mattresses, Beds & Headboards

    Larger items are delivered using our dedicated two-man service for maximum care and convenience.**

    As part of this free service, our team will:

    • Deliver to a room of your choice (up to the first floor)
    • Unpack and assemble your items where required
    • Remove all packaging for recycling

    Please note that the Junior Mattress and Woolly topper are doorstep delivery only.

    Delivery to higher floors is available for an additional charge.

    For a small extra fee, we can also remove and responsibly recycle your old like-for-like item.

Dishonest company. They increased the price by a lot then had a “sale”. A few days later the price dropped to the original amount and there was a summer promotion.

Lovely quality and as it's anti-microbial you really do wake up feeling fresher. I don't sweat much, but I do have sensitive skin and this feels lovely against the skin. I can vouch for all of the bedding which has wool and cotton.

Fabulous wool mattress protector. We used to have a synthetic one which made us hot, this definitely helps regulate body temperature. It also feels as if we’re sleeping on a cloud. Haven’t washed it yet, and I’m hoping that it fits in my washing machine.

I had purchased a HS mattress last year which had a wool mattress topper built in to it. I covered that with a 'standard' waterproof mattress cover which to me didn't seem right as i felt it needed to breath. What a difference this new wool mattress topper has made! The bed can breathe again and most of all, I'm not hot anymore! Love the fact that the mattress protector is washable too. Win, Win!

Organic Mattress Protector.

We bought a very expensive memory foam bed some years ago. It is very comfortable, but when we gave some thought to the environmental impact of our purchase we regretted it. I also found it extremely hot to sleep on, making my uncomfortable nightime hot flushes much worse. I have slept badly on it for several years. We treated out guests to one of your mattresses and protectors in your previous sale. Last week I gave up trying to sleep and moved to the guest bedroom. I couldn't believe how much difference the bed made to my sleep! I called customer services who assured me that a wool protector (the denser organic one) would cool a memory foam mattress. It does! We've had it 3 nights and I am so much more comfortable and cool. My husband is a normal sleeper and doesn't notice any temperature difference, but likes the lovely comfortable feel of the protector. Brilliant buy for me, I wish I had thought of it ages ago. I will absolutely buy a wool mattress from you when the dreaded memory foam reaches the end of it's useful life. Many thanks for good advice, swift delivery time and a fantastic product.

Well made mattress protector but I was expecting more depth and therefore comfort on a firm mattress than it provides. With hindsight I should have purchased a wool topper. It's expensive for what it is. If I'd seen in a shop I would not have purchased.
