We recommend machine washing on a wool/delicate cycle at 40 degrees using wool detergent, a spin speed lower than 800RPM and then line drying. We do not advise tumble drying. This product is not suitable for vacuum storage.

We use a fully tracked service for Canadian deliveries, ensuring your order arrives as quickly as possible. For any mattress, bed or headboard order, a specialist two-man service** is used to ensure the highest level of care. As standard, this service includes delivery to a room of your choice (first floor only), unpacking and assembly where applicable, and the removal of all packaging. This is provided free of charge, though a small delivery surcharge may apply to certain remote areas.
Our delivery team can deliver to additional floors at an extra cost. For a small additional charge, we can also remove and responsibly recycle a like-for-like product at the time of delivery.

Truly Machine Washable

It's impossible to produce a completely machine washable wool bedding without using some form of treatment on the fibre. It is a complex process that requires a lot of skill and knowledge. We are pioneers of creating a truly machine washable wool bedding.

Ordinarily, the combination of moisture, heat and movement in the washing machine will cause wool to felt and shrink. We've overcome this by bathing our British wool in a chlorine solution, which smooths out the natural barbs you find in wool (these are what cause untreated wool to shrink, clump and ultimately felt).

Deluxe Washable Wool Duvet - Light - FAQs

A wool duvet or duvet insert and a wool comforter are the same thing. Depending on where you live, you may be used to calling them one name or the other. But, they are the same product! Our wool comforters can be used as-is for bedding or you can insert into a duvet (or comforter) cover for style and protection between cleanings.

You can, but you don't have to! Our wool comforters are essentially duvet inserts. They can be enjoyed with or without a cover. Covers add style, color, and help extend the length of time you can go between washes. All of the cotton on our products is extremely soft and kind to the skin so if you decide not to use a cover, you'll still be comfortable and won't be in direct contact with the wool inside.

Really glad I chose "light". It is a little more substantial than I had expected. Even in New England winter, I am using it with a very light coverlet (80 gsm) on top and it is plenty warm and I don't want it to be warmer than that in my low 60 F bedroom. I also like the size! I always use a very large thin coverlet to dress the bed but for comforter I don't want it to be any bigger than necessary. Unless your comforter is the only thing on bed. Why drape with so much extra material along the sides of the bed? It will be unnecessarily heavier and also harder to launder. Please Woolroom keep your sizes.

The wool comforter is working well. I appreciate how thin it is compared to my previous down/down-like comforter which was lofty. This wool comforter is thinner but just as warm. I live in coastal southern California and the "light" version is working well so far this winter.
