Mattress Recycling

From Sleep to Sustainability

At Woolroom, every mattress we collect is given a new purpose. Through our trusted recycling partners, 100% of mattresses are diverted from landfill.

At Woolroom, sustainability runs through everything we do, right down to how we handle your old mattress.

Through our trusted partnership with TFR Group, we’re proud to ensure that 100% of returned mattresses are diverted from landfill, giving every material a second life.

More than 92% of each mattress is carefully recycled and reused within UK manufacturing, helping to create new products such as carpet underlay, insulation, and automotive fillings. With four dedicated recycling facilities across the UK, our process is designed to minimise waste, reduce carbon impact, and protect the environment.

It’s all part of our ongoing commitment to a truly circular approach to sleep, where comfort and conscience go hand in hand.

At Woolroom, we believe that sustainability doesn’t stop once you’ve found your perfect night’s sleep, it continues long after.

Every year, millions of mattresses end up in landfill, but through our recycling programme, we’re helping to change that. By giving valuable materials a second life, we’re supporting a truly circular approach to living, where nothing goes to waste.

This not only reduces our collective environmental footprint but also helps lower carbon emissions and promotes responsible production across the industry. Most importantly, it reflects the values that define Woolroom: creating products that deliver better sleep while building a better world for generations to come.

How Our Mattress Recycling Works

  • Careful Collection & Disassembly

When your old mattress is returned to us, it’s carefully collected by our delivery partners and taken to one of our specialist recycling facilities. Each mattress is handled responsibly and prepared for its next stage in the recycling journey, ensuring nothing goes to waste.

  • Sanitisation & Quality Control

Each mattress is put through a detailed inspection and waste acceptance process before being dismantled by hand into up to 19 separate components. Every material is sanitised, sorted, and processed to ensure maximum recovery and reuse.

  • Circular by Design

Following circular economy principles, over 16,000 mattresses are recycled each week. Usable materials such as springs, foam & fibres are given a second life. The components are used to manufacture new products in a range of industries.

Sleep Naturally. Recycle Responsibly.

Every Woolroom mattress comes with the option to have your old mattress collected and recycled. It’s part of our promise to make sustainable sleep effortless.
