Natural Latex Washable Wool Pillow - Deep

Very comfortable with great support for head and neck, a lovely nights sleep :)

I chose the Deep Latex Pillow because I wanted the resilience and support of latex, but I honestly wouldn't have ordered it if Woolroom hadn't offered a 30-night sleep trial. My neck is extremely sensitive following a cervical discectomy at C5/6 and C6/7 in 2009, with metal hardware in place, so I simply couldn't risk spending a significant amount of money on a pillow that might not work. The sleep trial gave me the confidence to try it, and for me that was priceless.

At first, I was convinced the pillow was too soft and would not work for me, i was so disappointed when it arrived because I'd been using an extremely firm, rock-hard pillow since my surgery. And when I say that was hard it was that dense there was not any give in it at all it would stand up like a pack of cards it was that hard, However, after a little trial and error, I found the perfect solution by using the Woolroom cover together with a padded pillow protector and a standard pillowcase. This gave the pillow just enough extra stability for my neck while still being much kinder to my face, which had become sore and marked each morning from years of sleeping on such a hard pillow.

After a couple of weeks of sleeping on it, I'm delighted to say my neck remains pain-free, my cheeks are much more comfortable, and the pillow springs back into shape every morning. The deep loft has been ideal, especially as I sleep on a Tempur mattress. I only hope it continues to maintain its height and support for many years to come. It's a big fair of mine because if I don't have a certain height and a certain stability of my neck the pain is unbearable, so as someone with a very demanding cervical spine condition, I'm genuinely surprised and extremely grateful to have found a pillow that works.

There are yes or no options on this review about the firmness on the pillow is it too hard is it too soft I'm going to say yes that it's comfortable anf just right but please bear in mind the only reason it works for me is because of my little added additions of the padded pillowcase and then another normal pillowcase this keeps it constricted so its firm enough for what I need. In my position I would not be able to use this pillow without these added extras as it would be too soft for my spine condition.

Love this pillow.
I used to have to combine parts of other pillows together to get extra loft, but this pillow has that height I need to begin with. It's also my first latex pillow and I find it cooler than memory foam.

Very quick delivery and the pillow is so comfortable. It was expensive but i am glad I bought it, as it's very comfortable and hopefully will last a long time.

Love this pillow. I used to sleep with two thin pillows so opted for the thicker option and glad I did (now only need this single pillow). Took a few nights to get used to it but now I sleep better than ever.

The best pillow I have owned as it offers higher support but is not achingly firm like others I have tried. I l appreciate the natural materials that have gone into making this pillow and the ethos of supporting a business other than soulless major retailer.

I would love to really recommend these pillows but I have mixed feelings. I ordered a pair and they are not the same. They look the same with the outer cover apart from one looking fuller. They feel different to sleep on - one is nice and firm and bouncy it is also a nice depth. The other unfortunately has a softer flimsier feel and is not as deep. My husband uses the better one and was not keen to swap ( I don’t blame him). On inspecting the inside i.e. the latex pillow, there are quite obvious differences. I can’t upload photos but there are a lot of splits in one. Customer service states :
“What you’re seeing in the latex is not a fault or damage to the pillow. During the manufacturing process, the latex insert is removed from the moulding machine while still very soft, and this can sometimes create small splits or variations around the holes and edges of the latex. Most latex pillows will have some degree of this appearance.
These cosmetic variations do not affect the performance, durability, or support of the pillow. Natural latex can also vary slightly in feel from one pillow to another, which is normal due to the manufacturing process and the nature of the material itself.”
This seems to be a fair statement but I think that the variation in feel from one pillow to another in my two pillows is more than slight. So we have to accept the differences.
You may be lucky to get two pillows that are similar but it would put me off buying another.

Our first time sleeping on latex pillows after trying wool and polyester pillows. Really like these. Slightly springy and so comfy to sleep on. The perfect level of support!

I love a latex pillow and to have the added bonus of a wool outer layer is perfect. I’m asthmatic and sleep raised up, lovely support and no fluffing the pillow during the night. Excellent.

Really comfy and helps my neck and shoulders to relax and sleep in a good position. Well worth the expense and would buy one again.

So much better than a wool only pillow. Soft and supportive, this is probably the best pillow you will ever own. Expensive but absolutely worth it.

Super deep and firm. But also a decent amount of squish to it that you don’t feel like you’re sleeping on a brick.
The outer wool covering is removable, via quality zip. Really pleased with it. Worth the money as it’s clearly a quality item that’ll last me years.
