The Junior Mattress is the natural step up once your child has outgrown their nursery or toddler mattress, suitable for children up to approximately 12 years old. Available in 90 x 190cm Single and 90 x 200cm Single XL sizes, it offers the space and support a growing body needs.

Pocket Springs, Wool and Alpaca Wool for Deep, Natural Sleep

At 16cm deep, our Junior bed mattress features a traditional pocket sprung support core with coir fibre either side, a British Wool Biobond layer, and a generous British wool and alpaca wool comfort filling.

Wool's natural temperature-regulating and moisture-wicking properties ensure a comfortable sleep environment throughout every season, while the double-sided construction allows the mattress to be rotated and flipped for extended, even wear.

Mattress Recycling

At Woolroom, sustainability runs through everything we do, including what happens to your old mattress. 100% of returned mattresses are kept out of landfill, so the materials can be reused.

How our mattress recycling works

Careful collection and dismantling: When your old mattress comes back to us, our delivery partners collect it and take it to a specialist recycling centre. Each mattress is handled carefully and prepared so the materials can be recovered.
Cleaned, checked and sorted: Every mattress is checked, then taken apart by hand into separate parts. Each material is cleaned, sorted and processed so it can be reused wherever possible.
Given a second life: Every week, over 16,000 mattresses are recycled in this way. Usable materials like springs, foam and fibres are given a second life and turned into new products in other industries.

My child’s been sleeping on this mattress for the last 2 years, since he was 2-2.5yo. We love this mattress. I sit on the bed with him each night reading books, it’s comfortable. We rotated it religiously at the start to ensure even settling of the materials, and we have not experience any issues. My son loves sleeping in his bed.

Comfy Single Mattress

Fantastic single bed mattress. Bought for my 5 year old. I've also slept on it. Comfy, few months in now we've turned it twice as instructed to do in first few weeks, all seems absolutely great. My son sleeps well on it, so far it's holding its shape like new. Also great to know he's sleeping on no chemicals plus we've done our bit to use local natural materials.

Still waiting on my mattress. I wish I never ordered now as most comments did say they didn't get the mattress for ages and there were problems with delivery. Very very disappointed.

I Want One!

Slat Spacing

I inquired about the maximum slat spacing before buying the product and they say that the slats cannot be more than 7mm (yes mm, not 7cm!) apart which would rule out most beds I have ever come across. This isn't on the product description. Just thought others should be aware.

Great Service And Very Good Mattress

The service we received was impeccable. The mattress arrived in less than a week after purchase with the company delivering contacting us over the phone to arrange a delivery time. My son has slept in it for a few weeks now and he is very comfi so far. The mattress seems really well made.

Super Comfy

Bought for our 7 year old and she's delighted with it. Super comfy and seems to regulate temperature well - she's been cosy during the winter months and doesn't overheat now the nights are (occasionally!) warmer. I sit on it to read with her at night and there's no roll down on the sides even as an adult moves off the edge i.e. it's well structured internally. It is the perfect Goldilocks tension too - neither too hard nor too soft! And the added reassurance of no chemicals makes this an all round ideal mattress. Well done and thank you Woolroom ??

Great to know that there aren’t any harmful chemicals used in this mattress. My only criticism is my 2 year old has only been using it for a few weeks and already the mattress has sagged quite badly in some areas so not completely satisfied with the quality and I’m already wondering how long it would last considering she doesn’t even weigh 2 stone yet.

Great Product!

I nearly didn't buy this mattress as the Woolroom didn't have a photo of the different layers of the mattress. However, I am very glad that we ended up buying it as we needed a mattress that fits on the top bunk and stays in shape without much support by a frame. It was important to find a natural mattress that doesn’t become flat over time but is well made and stays in shape. I slept on it myself (mum) one night and had a very good sleep, which for me is not always the case when sleeping on a different mattress.

Excellent Mattress

We ordered two of these mattresses for our toddler daughters (4 and 3) and are extremely impressed with the quality and comfort. My girls have graduated from their infant mattresses which were very firm whereas these have just the right support and give. I imagine they will sleep comfortably on these for years to come. An excellent buy which we wholeheartedly recommend to others.

Really Impressed

I was concerned this mattress would be extremely firm as many natural mattresses are. It isn’t! Perfect comfort for my 3 year old, I would say medium firm. I will be buying one for my 6 year old as well. Highly recommended and great to know the children aren’t exposed to unnecessary chemicals in synthetic mattresses.Woolroom - I nearly didn’t buy this because you don’t provide a cross section of the mattress. Please consider putting a cross section to show the interior layers and composition.

I am looking to purchase a children’s wool mattress to fit my daughter’s wooden double floor bed. The frame measures 200cm, by 140cm with side rails measuring a height of 45cm. I have looked at your website and the largest children’s mattress you sell is XL single,. Could you custom make a mattress to fit the dimensions given please??
