    Handcrafted with generous layers of traceable 100% British wool and a responsive microcoil core, it offers a balance of cushioning and underlying support. The result is a more substantial and luxurious sleep surface that enhances your mattress without overwhelming it - particularly if your current mattress feels too firm or lacks support.

    Rather than a quilted finish, this deep-fill mattress topper is tufted. The tufts create natural pockets, allowing the wool to move more freely and maintain its loft, creating a softer, more adaptive feel than our entry-level toppers.

    Beneath the wool, a layer of responsive microcoils adds structure. As you lie down, they provide gentle resistance to support alignment and reduce pressure build-up, while helping the topper retain its shape over time. Open space between the coils encourages airflow, working with the wool’s natural breathability to regulate temperature and moisture.

    For best results, simply spot clean with a damp cloth and a little wool detergent. This product cannot be dry cleaned, machine-washed or tumble-dried, but a gentle refresh is all it needs.

    You’ll receive full tracking updates by text and email, so you’ll always know exactly when to expect your delivery.*

    Orders placed after 2pm on Thursday will be delivered on Monday.

    Premium Wool Mattress Toppers

    Every premium mattress topper (Ryeland or Cheviot) is carefully crafted by hand and shipped to you within 4–5 weeks.

    Mattresses, Beds & Headboards

    Larger items are delivered using our dedicated two-man service for maximum care and convenience.**

    As part of this free service, our team will:

    • Deliver to a room of your choice (up to the first floor)
    • Unpack and assemble your items where required
    • Remove all packaging for recycling

    Please note that the Junior Mattress and Woolly topper are doorstep delivery only.

    Delivery to higher floors is available for an additional charge.

    For a small extra fee, we can also remove and responsibly recycle your old like-for-like item.

  1. Breathable British Wool Blend Outer Cover: A durable, breathable outer wool blend fabric allows air to circulate freely, supporting the performance of the natural fillings beneath.
  2. Structural Layer: High-density wool base layer provides stability and support from below, helping the topper retain its loft, shape and performance over time.
  3. Westcountry Wool Comfort Layers: Generous layers of traceable British wool sit close to the sleep surface, providing cushioning while helping regulate temperature and moisture throughout the night.
  4. Microcoil Support Core: At the centre, a layer of 2,000 pocketed microcoils forms the structural core. Each spring responds independently, helping support alignment, reduce pressure build-up and prevent the topper from compressing under weight.
  5. Supportive Cotton Ritch Layers: These layers add structure through the topper, helping support the fillings and maintain overall stability.
  6. West Country Wool Layer: Further wool layers beneath the springs add depth and breathability, ensuring comfort is built through the entire construction - not just at the surface.

A More Adaptive, Tufted Finish

Most mattress toppers use quilting to hold their fillings in place. The Ryeland takes a different approach.

Tufting creates larger, more open pockets within the topper, giving the wool greater freedom to shift and settle naturally. This allows the surface to respond more fluidly to movement, rather than holding a fixed shape.
