What is clean sleeping?

Clean sleep could be the answer to a happier, healthier you. But what is clean sleeping? And what do you need to change to sleep clean? It’s simple really. Sleep is an integral part of your body’s regeneration, helping you to re-energise, repair tissues and rebalance hormones. So making sleep an important part of your health regimen, and prioritising quality of sleep as well as quantity, will set you on the path to a clean sleep care schedule that keeps you feeling fresh and healthy.

The clean sleeping rules

Improve your sleep hygiene.

Do you have a routine sleeping pattern? Or are you guilty of burning the candle at both ends? Are you a stickler for set meals? Or a serial snacker? Re-assess your sleep hygiene and make sure your time re-energising is high quality.

High stress. No sleep.

Almost half of Britons claim that stress or worry keeps them awake at night. So idenitfying your stressors and taking action to claim back clean sleep habits can go a long way to helping you feel more balanced and in control throughout the day.

Re-evaluate your diet.

Your diet can play a large role in how you sleep. If you’re a sucker for caffiene, tend to skip meals, or depend too much on sugar, this could be playing havoc with your sleeping patterns.

Switch off. We’re all guilty of it. Being glued to smartphone screens has become part of everyday life, but is it hampering our sleep quality?

Rethink your bedding.

Building a clean sleep environment isn’t just about ditching your smartphone before bed. It’s about building a sleep environment that’s natural, hypoallergenic, breathable, AND comfortable. All with a view to make sure you’re creating a clean sleep environment that leaves you feeling happier and healthier.

Good quality sleep cleans the brain of toxins?

During sleep, our brains clean the toxins that have built up throughout a hard’s days work. Brain cells reduce in size as you sleep, leaving more room between neurons for fluid to work through the pathways and wash your brain clean. In fact, research has found that this kind of activity in the brain does not work when we are awake, suggesting that sleep plays a very important part in the restoration of brain function.
