    Que signifie réellement le terme « biologique » ?

    La laine biologique est issue d'un système d'élevage holistique qui produit des matières premières de haute qualité selon des méthodes respectueuses des personnes, de la planète et des animaux. L'appellation « biologique » est soumise à un cahier des charges strict. Les organismes de certification veillent au respect de toutes les étapes de l'agriculture biologique avant de délivrer une accréditation.

    Quelles sont les conditions requises pour qu'une laine soit classée comme biologique ?

    La laine biologique provient de moutons élevés, nourris, abrités et transportés selon des normes biologiques strictes, qui privilégient leur bien-être. Les pratiques cruelles sont interdites et le stress animal est réduit au minimum. Les éleveurs biologiques adoptent une approche préventive des maladies ; les animaux ne sont donc pas traités systématiquement avec des antibiotiques, des vermifuges ou des pesticides. Tout éleveur qui enfreindrait ces règles se verrait retirer sa certification biologique et sa laine ne pourrait plus être vendue comme biologique.

    Pour être classés comme biologiques, ils doivent respecter les critères suivants :

    • Élevés avec des aliments biologiques et élevés dans des pâturages biologiques pendant deux ans
    • Libres de suivre leur comportement naturel, avec beaucoup d'espace à l'extérieur et une vie en liberté totale.
    • Tout traitement des moutons est strictement interdit, sauf en cas d'absolue nécessité.
    • Traitement minimal de la fibre.

    Nous recommandons un lavage en machine sur un cycle laine/délicat à 40 degrés avec une lessive pour laine, une vitesse d'essorage inférieure à 800 tr/min, puis un séchage sur fil.

    Larger items are delivered using our dedicated two-man service for maximum care and convenience.**

    As part of this free service, our team will:

    • Deliver to a room of your choice (up to the first floor)
    • Unpack and assemble your items where required
    • Remove all packaging for recycling

    Please note that the Junior Mattress and Woolly topper are doorstep delivery only.

    Delivery to higher floors is available for an additional charge.

    For a small extra fee, we can also remove and responsibly recycle your old like-for-like item.

Dishonest company. They increased the price by a lot then had a “sale”. A few days later the price dropped to the original amount and there was a summer promotion.

Lovely quality and as it's anti-microbial you really do wake up feeling fresher. I don't sweat much, but I do have sensitive skin and this feels lovely against the skin. I can vouch for all of the bedding which has wool and cotton.

Fabulous wool mattress protector. We used to have a synthetic one which made us hot, this definitely helps regulate body temperature. It also feels as if we’re sleeping on a cloud. Haven’t washed it yet, and I’m hoping that it fits in my washing machine.

I had purchased a HS mattress last year which had a wool mattress topper built in to it. I covered that with a 'standard' waterproof mattress cover which to me didn't seem right as i felt it needed to breath. What a difference this new wool mattress topper has made! The bed can breathe again and most of all, I'm not hot anymore! Love the fact that the mattress protector is washable too. Win, Win!

We already have winter and summer duvets and pillows and are 100% happy. Trying a mattress protector was the next step and I am glad, I chose it from Woolroom. Organic Mattress Protector.

We bought a very expensive memory foam bed some years ago. It is very comfortable, but when we gave some thought to the environmental impact of our purchase we regretted it. I also found it extremely hot to sleep on, making my uncomfortable nightime hot flushes much worse. I have slept badly on it for several years. We treated out guests to one of your mattresses and protectors in your previous sale. Last week I gave up trying to sleep and moved to the guest bedroom. I couldn't believe how much difference the bed made to my sleep! I called customer services who assured me that a wool protector (the denser organic one) would cool a memory foam mattress. It does! We've had it 3 nights and I am so much more comfortable and cool. My husband is a normal sleeper and doesn't notice any temperature difference, but likes the lovely comfortable feel of the protector. Brilliant buy for me, I wish I had thought of it ages ago. I will absolutely buy a wool mattress from you when the dreaded memory foam reaches the end of it's useful life. Many thanks for good advice, swift delivery time and a fantastic product.

Well made mattress protector but I was expecting more depth and therefore comfort on a firm mattress than it provides. With hindsight I should have purchased a wool topper. It's expensive for what it is. If I'd seen in a shop I would not have purchased.
