Dust mites are pretty much everywhere, whether we like it or not. In fact, a square meter of bedding, or carpet can harbour up to 100,000 dust-mites when fully colonised - nasty stuff!

These pesky little blighters don't like our wool bedding though, because the dry environment it promotes (due to it's unique ability to desorb moisture) mean that they don't get enough of what they thrive on.

Of the total weight of pillows that we lay our heads on each and every night; 10% can be made up entirely of dust mites, including their droppings.
