Truly Machine Washable

It's impossible to produce a completely machine washable wool pillow without using some form of treatment on the fibre. It is a complex process that requires a lot of skill and knowledge. We are pioneers of creating a truly machine washable wool duvet.

Ordinarily, the combination of moisture, heat and movement in the washing machine will cause wool to felt and shrink. We've overcome this by bathing our British wool in a chlorine solution, which smooths out the natural barbs you find in wool (these are what cause untreated wool to shrink, clump and ultimately felt).

Excellent service, quick delivery and quality products. My doctor said my allergies were being triggered by my feather and down duvet and l should change it. I found woolroom and decided to buy a wool duvet. After only one night my sneezing and itching had completely stopped. Im so glad l bought it and it's even stopped my night flashes. I used to throw the feather duvet off me in the night but wool is the perfect temperature for sleeping in comfort without sweating and waking up with damp and clammy skin.

I haven’t actually used these latest purchases but it was because I have been so delighted by the general performance of other duvets in this range that I have now bought the ‘warm’ ones. Originally I purchased the all-seasons sets which worked very well when using the duvets individually but during the colder months when I needed to attach 2 duvets together for maximum. warmth invariably I found the poppers came undone quite easily ( a moments inattention whilst manoeuvring the combined duvet and pulling it by the edges could lead to several frustrating minutes trying to unruckle the duvet inside the cover and trying to realign to poppers). However, as I have already mentioned, I have been so pleased with the the quality of manufacture and performance of my earlier purchases (apart from the popper issue) that I was prepared to purchase the higher tog duvet .

We've been using our new wool quilt for over a month now and it's certainly warm! No issue there, it's as warm as the feather/down one it's replacing. The filling is evenly spread in diamond-shaped sections, and it stays even all night. You're never finding the feathers have bunched up or you have a featherless bit. Can't honestly say we've noticed the heat adjusting to our individual preferences or anything. It's very warm and silky (if cotton can be silky). It drapes over the bed nicely without needing a shake. We're impressed.
