    Our Organic Washable Mattress Protector provides a temperature regulating layer to your mattress as well as protecting it with the most organic materials. Hand-crafted from 9 oz sq/yd of traceable, machine washable organic British wool combined with an organic cotton outer cover to provide the most organic night's sleep.

    A wool mattress protector is perfect for use on a memory foam, latex or any other mattress that gets very hot with use. This will take away up to 70% of the heat given off leaving you to sleep comfortably without overheating.

  • Care Instructions

     
    • Cleaning: Machine wash on a wool/delicate cycle at 40 degrees using a wool detergent.
    • Drying: Please only line dry. Do not tumble dry.
    • Storage: Store exclusively in the provided calico bag and avoid vacuum storage.
    • Freshening: To refresh the protector, we recommend placing it outside for a few hours.

  • Shipping

     

    For all orders that contain bedding or accessories, it will ship from our US distribution center in Knoxville, TN or Salt Lake City, UT on a 2-3 day ground service using FedEx, UPS or USPS. This is a free service for all orders over $100 (pre sales tax), and will take 2-3 working days to reach you.

    Mattress orders will be delivered to you in 7-14 days with FedEx. Your tracking number will be provided to you once your items have been dispatched from our distribution center. As we believe our products are of a significant value we require a signature for all orders. In certain circumstances this signature has been waivered for a contactless delivery.

    Please note that in exceptional circumstances your order may be fulfilled from elsewhere. This may go via a different courier to FedEx or UPS. This will not affect the delivery time or experience in any way. We are unable to deliver to PO Box addresses, please use an alternative address or your order may result in a failed delivery.

Truly Machine Washable

It's impossible to produce completely machine washable wool without using some form of treatment on the fiber. It is a complex process that requires a lot of skill and knowledge. We are pioneers of creating truly machine washable wool bedding and have been doing so since 2008.

Ordinarily, the combination of moisture, heat and movement in the washing machine will cause wool to felt and shrink. We've overcome this by bathing our British wool in a chlorine solution, which smooths out the natural barbs you find in wool (these are what cause untreated wool to shrink, clump and ultimately felt).

I bought this for my 97 year old mom. We have a hospital bed set up in her bedroom. I’d earlier purchased a foam topper and placed a mattress cover over it. Even though she’s very slender and hardly ever sweats, she started sweating at night. I bought this cotton-wool mattress cover to see if it would help. So far, she hasn’t tried it out yet. She’ll be back here in a few days. Meanwhile, I have aired your mattress cover out on the deck in the sun. It didn’t arrive with any smell or anything. Just thought I’d air it out before I made her bed.

I put this cover over a mattress topper then put a fitted sheet over the wool protector, I’m sure it will perform perfectly. I do eventually intend to get a light comforter and one day even a wool latex topper- love Woolroom products.

Fantastic. This really helps w regulating your temperature, which is useful if you are a woman of a certain age. It’s very comfortable as well and adds some padding to the mattress but not too much so as to make the bed too soft and cause back issues. It’s a great product. I’m going through “the change” and I was getting terrible hot flashes that woke me up multiple times every night. Twice per flash. Once because I was burning up, so I remove all my covers. The next one because I’m freezing. Repeat multiple times, every night. I realized that my memory foam mattress was trapping my body heat and making my hot flashes extra miserable. I hadn’t gotten a good night’s sleep in months. I decided to try a wool topper before spending a ton of money on those bed cooling machines. I settled on the mattress protector but I was worried that it might be too thin to create an effective barrier between my body heat and the foam. Boy was I wrong. Between the wool protector and my new, breathable sheets I can actually sleep decently at night. This is a game changer!!

This is a well-made mattress protector, but unfortunately it did not alleviate my night sweats. I have (otherwise) converted entirely to linen and silk bedding, and that’s certainly helped— but I’m still struggling with the heat generated by my memory foam mattress. I’ve had good luck sleeping on folded wool blankets and my silk duvet, so I gave this wool mattress pad a try… but it didn’t really move the needle for me. I regret not trying a thicker option now. Back to the drawing board!

The matress cover has a well built feel and has minimal influence on the matress feel. It’s only been a couple of weeks but first impressions are good.
