For all orders that contain bedding or accessories, it will ship from our US distribution center in Knoxville, TN or Salt Lake City, UT on a 2-3 day ground service using FedEx, UPS or USPS. This is a free service for all orders over $100 (pre sales tax), and will take 2-3 working days to reach you.

Mattress orders will be delivered to you in 7-14 days with FedEx. Your tracking number will be provided to you once your items have been dispatched from our distribution center. As we believe our products are of a significant value we require a signature for all orders. In certain circumstances this signature has been waivered for a contactless delivery.

Please note that in exceptional circumstances your order may be fulfilled from elsewhere. This may go via a different courier to FedEx or UPS. This will not affect the delivery time or experience in any way. We are unable to deliver to PO Box addresses, please use an alternative address or your order may result in a failed delivery.

A highly advanced pocket coil system provides exceptional individual support for each user. The outer two firmer rows of coils provide a reinforced edge preventing roll-off.

British Wool Insulator Pad

A layer of ethically sourced traceable, British wool protects the underside of the mattress and provides a solid foundation for the coils and softer fillings above.

Merino Blend Outer Cover

Wool's natural flame retardancy provides a fire retardant cover that is chemical free and passes all flammability tests (CFR 1632 & 1633) naturally without the need for chemical treatments.

Hand-Tufted

Each mattress is tufted by hand to ensure the natural fillings are held in compartments preventing the movement of fillings inside the mattress.

Naturally Flame Retardant - No Chemicals Used

Most mattresses will use an Flame Retardant (FR) sock or barrier (which is synthetic) or FR chemicals to meet the local laws on flammability. The Luxury Wooly has incorporated knowledge learnt from nearly 40 years of strict legal requirements in the UK on flammability and uses the natural flame retardancy of wool (high nitrogen content stops it burning) in the surface fillings and the cover to meet all domestic FR requirements (CFR 1632 and CFR 1633) naturally.

Our mattresses are Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified meaning they are free from harmful chemicals and suitable for use with young children.

Classic Wooly Mattress - FAQs

We always recommend finding a foundation for your wool mattress. A mattress will contour to the foundation, so it's important to choose the right one to avoid sagging or over-firming. A wooden or metal slatted base will firm a mattress significantly, so it’s always best to look for a spring option if possible. It’s also recommended that the gap between the slats is no more than 4 inches wide to ensure maximum performance of the mattress.

In the USA! All our mattresses are made with British-imported wool in South Carolina, USA. Expertly handcrafted by fourth generation mattress makers in South Carolina, our all-natural wool mattress range mixes the best of British design and materials (including traceable British wool) with the expertise of local craftsmanship from the USA.

Actually, it's the opposite. Contrary to what you may think, wool actually is breathable, moisture wicking, and temperature regulating. So, instead of making you hot (and itchy and clammy), wool naturally keeps you much cooler. This makes a wool mattress the best choice for night sweats sufferers, hot sleepers, and warm nights. It'll leave you feeling drier and more comfortable for a better night’s sleep.

Wool is a natural fiber, not synthetic like memory foam. Wool stays clean and free from mold, mildew, and bacteria due to its natural fiber coating that repels allergens. Memory foam is a synthetic material that is is not breathable. While it offers appealing comfort and firmness, the downside is a mattress that absorbs sweat, dust mites, and dead cells. This decreases its length of use and makes it a hot zone for allergens.

I bought the twin mattress for my day bed and to try it out before we purchased 2 xl twins for our king bed platform. I was impressed after I slept on it the first, second and third nights..and then I was convinced this mattress solved a lot of issues I had been having with over-heating with latex and memory foam. We spent a lot of money and it was beginning to look impossible. My husband had also been uncomfortable, so he is actually the one that found the mattress.

Superior! So happy I found Woolroom. My whole experience is extremely positive- from ordering, to unpacking, to using the product. I would not find all the words to describe how excellent and exceptional this is (not just the mattress but other products as well, I bought so far). I used to have more expensive mattresses which don’t carry even half of the quality. The most incredible thing about this mattress is that I purchased it as a simple base to layer up with two toppers, as I have specific requirements, but I ended up having the best sleep of my life on it without any additions! I would never believe until I experienced it that a firm mattress can cater to all my needs. And I can feel the wool! It’s temperature feels so good. Can it be its thermo qualities reduces my muscle pain? I don’t know, but I am not willing to add any other topper on it because how good for me the wool feels. I like that there’s no other layer in this mattress.

Love my Woolroom mattress!. As I have multiple chemical sensitivities, I can never buy conventional products. I bought an Ikea bedframe with slats hoping that the Swedes would be more chemically aware. The wood had a slight odor, but it dissipated after a couple months. Then I put the Woolroom mattress on it. Perfect. The mattress had zero smell and is super comfy. The mattress pad did have a slight odor but it dissipated quickly, within days, and may have been from the packaging. Very happy with my Woolroom purchases and thankful that there are still companies out there doing things the right way.

This mattress is supposed to be 8” deep, while the one I received was only 6.7” to 7” deep. And I was told by the manufacturer that over 1” error was still within the tolerance and refused an exchange.

Great mattress. Good support. Good comfort. Great customer service and fast shipping.

Shipping was a nightmare. Once I finally got that straightened out, the mattress and sheets are A+ top notch. Even though FedEx had assured me they would hold the package for delivery after I returned from a trip, I returned to find out my signature had been faked and the mattress dropped off the day after I left town. After 4 more miserable weeks of sleeping on the sofa, I finally received my mattress and I have been happy with it ever since. But for goodness' sake give me another shipping option next time!
